2 | Can fallen spirit filled saints repent? | 1 John 5:13 | Robert Nicholson | 41258 | ||
Doggiegrace: I do not believe that a person who is "in Christ" by being born again can ever be lost eternally and that even if they fall, the father is always willing to forgive us and restore us into full fellowship with him. This is underlined by Paul in Romans 8:33-39 "33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. 34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." In John 10: 28 Jesus said "I give unto them eternal life and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand" Regarding the sinning saint. In 1 John 1:8 "If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In Hebrews 6 1-8 we read of apostates and how that after they have been given light, they have turned from it. I do not believe these people were ever born again. In contrast to the apostates of v 1-8 in verse 9 it is written "But, beloved we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation..." I realize that this topic is seen from other views. peace in his name Robert |
