1 | God loves that you love | 1 John 4:18 | Wofa Ato | 217090 | ||
Fear is perverse faith. it is actually faith in the devil's ability to harm you. The only way to kick it out is to grow in love. If you fear love is not made complete in you . . . remember that God is Love (1 Jn 4:7,8). Simply put if you still have fear in you, then the fullness of God is not in you |

Wofa Ato, I am sorry one more quesion ... Let us look at the immediate context of this verse. 1 John 4:17 By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, so also are we in this world. 1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love. 1 John 4:19 We love, because He first loved us. 1 John 4:20 If someone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen. 1 John 4:21 And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God should love his brother also. Verse 17 says the fear about the judgment (of God) ... so where do you see the devil in this? |

I believe my previous answers should help clarify things for you. In the verse 17 he says by this . . .by what? In the verse 16 he says And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God and God in him. What is the love of God . . . the doing of his commandments . . . what commandments? Love your neighbor as yourself. Then God would live in you. Can God and fear(timidity)live together . . . emphatically no. Why? 2Tim 1:7, Eze. 36:26-27 (A new heart also will i give to you and a new spirit will i put within you; I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh. and I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in my status and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.) So when we keep His judgment, we are perfected in Him . . . no wonder He said so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment . . .what confidence? that we are not condemned (Rom 8:1) |
