1 | Adultery, Married, Should I now divorce? | 1 John 1:9 | D.D.1961 | 46492
Can a person who was saved and then committed adultery and married the person still go to Heaven if they acknowledge that what they did was wrong and they are sorry about it as well. I did this and I am deeply troubled by what I did because I know God forbids it. Sometimes I just feel so disgusted with myself, but it is done and over with. I am sorry, but love my husband (who I previously committed adultery with). Should I divorce him now and remain single even though I love him. I don't think this would please God either. I just feel so discusting now and worry about not being forgiven (even though it says I am). You can be honest and hard on me, but please don't be too harsh...I really am sorry.
2 | Adultery, Married, Should I now divorce? | 1 John 1:9 | BABYNATE | 46511
THIS IS A VERY TOUGH SUBJECT BUT IT CAN BE ANSWERED IN GOD'S WORD. MATT. 19:9 SHOULD CLEAR UP ANY QUESTION YOU HAVE. IF YOUR HUSBAND PUT AWAY HIS WIFE TO MARRY YOU AND IT WAS AN UNSCRIPTURAL DIVORCE THEN YOU ARE AT THIS POINT LIVING IN ADULTERY. YOU CAN CONFESS YOUR SIN ALL YOU WANT BUT IF YOU DO NOT REPENT (CHANGE THE SITUATION YOU ARE IN) THEN GOD WILL NOT FORGIVE. I KNOW THIS IS VERY HARD TO SWALLOW BUT GOD IS VERY PLAIN ON DIVORCE. THE ONLY SCRIPTURAL WAY TO DIVORCE IS IF YOUR SPOUSE IS COMMITING FORNICATION AND THAT'S THE ONLY WAY. I'LL GIVE YOU THIS EXAMPLE AND YOU MAKE YOUR CHOICE, IF I STOLE YOUR CAR AND CONFESSED TO GOD I HAD STOLEN YOUR CAR COULD I STILL KEEP YOUR CAR? HOPE THIS HELPS AND FORGIVE ME IF I HAVE BEEN TO HARSH, BUT THE SOUL IS TOO IMPORTANT NOT TO BE TRUTHFUL WITH.
