Scripture is supreme, scripture stands on it’s own, most importantly scripture is living it conveys to it’s readers today just as it did in the thousands of years in the past. Scripture never changes. What changes is the conclusions (theology) man draws from scripture. The church had a theology that existed 1500 years, was it perfect? NO! Far from it but it was based on scripture. Then one day a group of Enlightened men decided that the existing theology gleaned from scripture was wrong and they set down to detail the differences, they used great flowing words, eloquent speech, a form of wordsmithing rarely seen before. Their presentation of their theology appealed to man, it tickled their ears and more importantly it seemed more logical and intellectual. There was great debate, men on both sides of the issue lost their lives. End result division. A divide that has been there for over 600 years with no progress from either side, with one exception a majority of the believers stayed with original theology, they made needed corrections, discarded some parts they believed were man made but basically they believed as they had before the division. However the other side refuses to accept this. They demand they are correct. That their conclusion (theology) of scripture is the only correct conclusion (theology) and for over 2000 years every one else is wrong. That brings us to today. Scripture has not changed, the words have not changed or modified yet today we have various schools of theology. Why, I am not sure but I do know that some make accusations against those that do not agree with them and scripture clearly tells us to, “Do unto others as we would have them do unto us.†Enough said. |

I see. So, when you teach -- presumably something from the Scriptures -- you have utterly no authority because it is what you are saying it. I think the Quakers used to do that. But they would completely forgo having that fellow up there in front going on about things that he cannot say authoritatively. So I now see your point, Ed. I didn't realize your position applied to all those 22,000 independent preachers out there, too, along with yourself. I will keep this in mind as you trail along behind my posts. Thank you for explaining.

Actually the point is to teach, but within established theology, not trying to change theology or altering established truths. Scripture gives us that truth and it has been taught for thousands of years not just the last 600. God established His doctrines, His ways, His standards, His precepts, His commands that and that alone is what we are to teach. Not our own brand of theology that manufactures characteristics of God that aren’t seen in scripture. All teaching must be true to scripture not to the theology of a man. No matter how brilliant that man he was not called to establish doctrine contrary to who God is, contrary to God’s standards, precepts or demands. Man can never put words in God’s mouth nor should he try to use his intellect or logic to convolute a loving God. I don’t trail just any man I only trail Jesus who brings light to the darkness. |

Ah... Clearly you have not read a thing that I have posted. So much complaining without hearing a word (Proverbs 18:13). Thus, I am answering someone who is simply parroting out of their bigotry. I fear that that makes me the greater fool. I will cease with impunity.

Oh I read everything you have posted. I just don't buy what you are posting. I am not parroting anything, I am simply saying the differences in our theology have existed for 600 years, people far wiser and more knowledgeable than you or I have argued the differences without resolution for those 600 years. Further these differences will not be settled here so why must you pick the scab of those differences. There are far greater issues, bigger problems and lost souls dying and going to hell. I know about what you are facing and I have been praying about it. I would have liked to have conveyed my concern to you by email but you know that is not possible. Blessings to you. |

Job 32:1 applies... so does Proverbs 1:5; 12:15
7 | The Word Gifted to the People of God | 2 Pet 1:17 | EdB | 243937
Notice in Job 32:1 it was the friends that were wrong. The two verses in Proverbs are excellent but who do they apply to? I'm sure either side looks at the other as the fool. The problem is arguing over theology. Both sides believe they have the truth and the other is wrong. Better to live Christ like and let man made theology alone. Only a fool insists theology and denominational doctrine must be discussed in arena that was made to cater to all orthodox theologies and denominations.
