Subject: The Word Gifted to the People of God |
Bible Note: Scripture is supreme, scripture stands on it’s own, most importantly scripture is living it conveys to it’s readers today just as it did in the thousands of years in the past. Scripture never changes. What changes is the conclusions (theology) man draws from scripture. The church had a theology that existed 1500 years, was it perfect? NO! Far from it but it was based on scripture. Then one day a group of Enlightened men decided that the existing theology gleaned from scripture was wrong and they set down to detail the differences, they used great flowing words, eloquent speech, a form of wordsmithing rarely seen before. Their presentation of their theology appealed to man, it tickled their ears and more importantly it seemed more logical and intellectual. There was great debate, men on both sides of the issue lost their lives. End result division. A divide that has been there for over 600 years with no progress from either side, with one exception a majority of the believers stayed with original theology, they made needed corrections, discarded some parts they believed were man made but basically they believed as they had before the division. However the other side refuses to accept this. They demand they are correct. That their conclusion (theology) of scripture is the only correct conclusion (theology) and for over 2000 years every one else is wrong. That brings us to today. Scripture has not changed, the words have not changed or modified yet today we have various schools of theology. Why, I am not sure but I do know that some make accusations against those that do not agree with them and scripture clearly tells us to, “Do unto others as we would have them do unto us.†Enough said. |
