1 | Why so many destined for Hell? | 1 Pet 2:8 | CDBJ | 70378 | ||
Hi Shelly, your post is good but I have a question and a statement that I would like to mention. A portion of your post reads, God created us hoping that we would spend eternity with Him in Heaven, but He gave us that choice to make. If we believe and confess in Him, then we will be saved. If we don't, we go to hell. For starters we are not created, but procreated, then you said if we believe and confess in Him, with reference to God. This is not what they do in the Islam religion? They believe and confess that they believe in God does that mean that they are saved? |

Hi My ref was Romans 10:9-10. This refers to Jesus as Lord (not only reference to God). Romans 10:9-10 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. [10] For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. |

Shelly, you are right and I apologize I directed my post toward you and it should have been directed toward the person that you answered. Some times my fingers get ahead of my mind on this keyboard or I am having a senior moment or something anyway I agree with your answer to the post that you answered. I noticed that in their discussion on salvation, and the emphasis on believing, that the name Jesus wasn’t even mentioned. People can believe in God till they are blue in the face and they will never experience the relationship that is necessary for eternal life until they trust and believe in God’s unique Son Jesus the Christ. The best to you in this glorious time of year when we celebrate the greatest gift that has ever been given; God’s precious Son, Jesus. CDBJ |
