1 | Will the real Christians please stand up | James 5:16 | Searcher56 | 126243
Scripture ... Mat 6:6-13, Jam 5:13-20 ....... IBLONG2GOD, I have only seen one church where prayer meetings were attended by a majority those who attended Sunday morning. Moreover, some, or is it most of the larger churches don't have a prayer service or (and) the room is very small. By the do you understand all the references to 2 or 3 gathered is about judgment, not prayer or the church. Searcher |

I understand that this verse is used in the context of judging within the body of Christ. However, i was under the impression that this is a "principle" that could be used in the context of prayer also. Good looking out!

Greetings Ibelong2God! Not only is this verse an example of a verse taken out of context, but it is also an example of what happens when we don't consider the truths of all of Scripture. Allow me to demonstrate. Is there anyplace that God is not present? The answer, according to Scripture, is 'No!' God is omnipresent. Jonah thought that he could run from God by getting away from Israel, but he soon discovered that there is no place that God is not present. So, if only one person is gathered in prayer, God is STILL there. In fact, if no one is there - God is still there! :-) The actual context has to do with God's guidance of and sanction of judgement carried out by the church. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
