1 | Explain "the word of His power"Heb1:3 | Heb 1:3 | HEWEsq | 35497
Can someone please explain the term " Word of His power"(nasb) // " His mighty word of power" (amp)? I understand it to mean that in order for God's power to operate, we must speak His word. His power actually operates by us speaking His word. His power is released through His Word. Help!!! |

2 | Explain "the word of His power"Heb1:3 | Heb 1:3 | Andrew Jr | 35510
This is a very deep verse in Hebrews. First of all, refer back to St.John 1:1,"In the beggining was the word and the word was with God and the word was God." Jesus Christ is that word that John refers to. Christ Jesus is that spoken word that operated in Gen.1:1 when God said let their be light. This is very much spiritual, when God spoke the word, the word that he had spoken was Christ being manifested. For ex. when a man speaks, his voice allows you to here the word from his lips. When God speaks it gives Christ authority to operate and we can see the evidence of it because they are one. God's word is not just verbal but it is in action, it is Christ operating and becoming the "Let their be." God is now operating all things by his word, which is Christ Jesus. This means that Christ is actually running the whole universe with the authority of God. Christ is the word of his power that Heb 1:3 speaks of. Read Heb 1:10 and St. John 1:3 which goes on to say that all things were created by Jesus Christ. Inorder for you to have power it is not from speaking the word but rather from Christ living in you. Christ living in us is what actually gives us power to operate. This same power is what teaches and allows a man to live holy. Without this power no man can live holy. Christ is the word of his power that offered himself and died for the world. He is the one on the right hand of the father. Let me know if this helps you out any. Andrew jr |

4 | Can everyone rec'd the Holy Spirit | Heb 1:3 | jlpangilinan | 36364
No! only those who ask for it. Lu 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? You have to ask for it and it will given unto you: Mt 7:7 ΒΆ Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: God bless, Johnny |

5 | Can everyone rec'd the Holy Spirit | Heb 1:3 | Ray | 36405
Hi Johnny, I would surmise from your personal profile that you believe in the Trinity and would thus say that the Holy Spirit is a Person and not an it. Are you thus saying that the holy spirit here in this verse is the good thing given rather than the Person? That is the interpretation that I am putting forth and I just wonder if that is also what you are saying here. Matthew 7:11, "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!" Luke 11:13, My interpretation for what it is worth: "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father from heaven give the *holy *spirit to those who ask Him?" The Greek is literally "Father from heaven". Let me know how you interpret the verses for I don't want to put words in your mouth. Also, could you tell me what you mean in your profile "Only one Holy Spirit". In other words, is the Holy Spirit God in your mind; and/or are the other two Persons one Holy Spirit in your mind. From the heart, Ray |

6 | Can everyone rec'd the Holy Spirit | Heb 1:3 | jlpangilinan | 36553
Ray, Matthew 7:11, "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!" I put that verse to weight in that you have to "ask God" if you want to receive the Holy Spirit. If we recall the question really is "can everyone receieve the Holy Spirit" and my answer is NO! you have to ask for it. For your second question, I am sorry, I cannot understand it clearly. I hope you can specify more clearly I try to answer you back. sorry. God bless, Johnny |
