1 | Theology of Glory versus the Cross | 2 Tim 3:13 | skccab | 195183 | ||
Hi Azure, I guess what I was trying to say is: concerning the ones who are "in it" for their own gain, not the ones who are truly called to the Word of God - isn't it better for society that they be busy at "playing church" than out dealing drugs, robbing 7-11s, cavorting with our children to do them harm, etc? I've probably just dug a deeper hole for myself, but there you have it, I've said it. Cheri |

Dear Cheri, Yes cheri, on one hand (as per our human mind) it would be a better choice for those (unbelieve) to sit busy at "playing church" (as you term it). On the other hand, the danger lies behind it would be those that who sit so well and feeling good at church might not realize their own sin for they could have been decieved. They might have created a good self-feeling within their acitivities at church - I am no more a sinner. On the contrary, those (dealing drugs, robbing, etc.) who deemed to be so much inferior to the seemed to be holy congregation, I doubt they would regard themselves have anything in association with holiness or righteousness, etc. I believe the story depicted in Luke 7:36-50 in contrasting Simon, the Pharisee and the sinner woman has addressed my point.
