Aixen - Reading your post in which you cited actual examples of poorly worded and ambiguous questions that have come before this forum was like taking a trip down memory lane! ..... Some say there is no such thing as a stupid question. That seems debatable to me, for it is clear that not all questions are created equal. Two kinds of questions vie for first place on my roster of bad questions. The first kind begins by asking, "Why did God ..." (do so and so), and the second ends with the demand, "Answer yes or no." ..... The first is irreverent and presumptuous. The second is generally impossible to answer, and I always feel like snapping back, "I'll answer your question with a yes or no if you'll answer mine yes or no: Have you stopped beating your spouse?" ...... All in all, the one-word "question," Russellville, that showed up on the forum some time back, is easily my favorite. --Hank | ||||||

You then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please yourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification. For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me. Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. And the servant of the Lord must ... be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, in meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; and that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will. |
