1 | Evidence of holy spirit in a Christian? | 2 Tim 1:14 | Ray | 104578 | ||
Hi Eli, The words "Spirit of Power" and "Spirit of Wisdom" were not found in a word search. One would find spirit of power and spirit of wisdom however. So there may very well be a spirit of wisdom that you are not aware of. Now there may very well be a "Spirit of wisdom" as per Isaiah 11:2 in the NKJ version which rested on Him. I have that penciled in my personal copy. But Wisdom is not capitalized, i.e. in being recognized as Deity. We do not capitalize wisdom in Proverbs for instance. Proverbs 8:22, "The Lord possessed me [sic] at the beginning of His way, Before His works of old. From everlasting I was established, From the beginning, from the earliest times of the earth." In 1 Cor 12:4-8 I see the Spirit and the spiritual gifts. The gift of the message or word of wisdom and word of knowledge are things given by the Giver, the Spirit. Luke 1:41 and Romans 8:16 are examples of the Spirit Himself bearing witness with the spirit. Talk to you later, From the heart, Ray |

Hello, Ray. Thanks for answering. I think what I meant was the Spirit of wisdom (lowercase wisdom)comes through the empowerment of the Spirit. Thats what I was meaning. Other examples to back this up are people like Micah when he says in Micah 3:8 "But as for me, I am filled with power, with the Spirit of the LORD, and with justice and might, to declare to Jacob his transgression, to Israel his sin." and also Samson in Judges 14:6 "The Spirit of the LORD came upon him in power so that he tore the lion apart with his bare hands as he might have torn a young goat." Samson was given supernatural strength when the Spirit came upon him, and the same Spirit came upon Micah so that he could declare to Israel their transgressions. Micah was not given strength, and Samson was not given the power to declare Israel's sin. Yeah, I think we agree on everything else you mentioned in your last note! This has challenged me to really get the gears turning! Thanks Ray! In Christ, Eli PS- I read your profile and I understand you have prostrate cancer? I will be praying for you! I believe that the Lord can heal you as he healed people in the past!" (Acts 3:16, Acts 4:22, Proverbs 3:5) |
