1 | By definition is it out of order? | 1 Tim 5:20 | Sinjin2 | 24472
While I do agree those verses aptly describe the situation, they do not seem to address how to deal with it. I agree that mature may mean a 30 yr old full of the Word or a 80 yr. old. The question is not about age at all. This issue has become a war zone in the church because that is the verse the minister chose to use to correct it. It has effectively divided the church and even caused people who claim to belong to Jesus to react in hatred and anger. I myself would have gone to the individual and asked what was meant etc. I do not seek an endorsement of the use of the verse but am curious to know what would indeed constitute the justifiable use of the verse to bring correction according to the Scripture not a particular church or demominational doctrine.

Sinjin2 Again the answer to your question is Matt 18. The pastor should have talked to this woman privately, if the problem continued the Pastor should have gone to her again this time with 2 or three elders. If the problem continued after that the Pastor had every right and responsibility to take this woman before the church. In accordance with Matt 18:17 and 1 Tim 5:20. I pray this answers your question, if not maybe you can restate your question. EdB |
