Our church allowed our sanctuary to be used for a pre-school easter egg hunt. I believe that easter eggs, rabbits and Easter in general came from pagan practices. I know that over the years many of the pagan rites and rituals have infiltrated the Christian faith. Is it wrong for me to feel that allowing the sanctuary to be used for this purpose is a form of defilement? |

windsongcloe, Welcome to the forum. I could get all legalistic and hard line about this but where is the prophit? Now my question for you is this, How did this impact your faith. Read Romans chapter 14. Easter is the day we remember Christs sacrifice and resurrection. We aught be doing this daily anyway. I think the biggest question is where our hearts and focus are at. You know, I referred to Easter as Resurrection Day and some of my family actually asked me why I did that. When I asked them what they observe on the Sunday they call Easter Sunday, they simply said “Easter”. Even after I explained to them why I referred to it the way I did, there was an odd silence on the other end of the phone line, and then a snicker.
