Greetings - When we live our lives based upon our performance and the opinions of others we are living according to the empty and deceptive philosphy that is the basis for the traditions of men. As a man thinks in his heart, so is he (Prov 23:7). If we believe that we are who God says we are in Christ - forgiven, totally accepted, pleasing and complete in Him, we will live accordingly, with the objective of glorifiyng God in all things. How we dress will not be an issue. Although unique, IN Christ, we are all the same and each of us should be a reflection of God to the world. We honor Him when we honor how He made us. A woman can certainly reflect her femininity in slacks, and a man can reflect his masculinity in a kilt. I hope this helps you sort through the trap of legalism that is hinted at in your question. Blessings, mommapbs |

Hi, Mom... of course, we understand that kilts were designed as clothing for men. Slacks can be designed for women or for men. A man ought not wear clothing that was designed for women. Nor ought a women wear clothing that was designed for men. Such prohibitions are against transvestitism, rather than prescribing how folks ought to dress in church.

We honor God when we honor how He made us. Transvestitism does not do this! (Oh my, just a thought- some reading this might opt for no clothes at all!) Blessings, mommapbs Blessings, mommapbs |

If they think that about nakedness, a quick read of Leviticus 18 will cure it. :-)

I read through Lev 18 and was struck by verse 25. 'For the land has become defiled, therefore I have brought its punishment upon it, so the land has spewed out its inhabitants.' Might there be an admonition here for people to consider before "approving" what God says is defiling? I'm thinking about this in conjunction with America's responsibility in November. |
