AMPLIFIED 2015 | Colossians 2:8 ¶ See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception [pseudo-intellectual babble], according to the tradition [and musings] of mere men, following the elementary principles of this world, rather than following [the truth--the teachings of] Christ. |
Bible Question: what does the bible say about tradition living? also what scriptures talk about the differnce in a womans attire and a mans. |
Bible Answer: Greetings - When we live our lives based upon our performance and the opinions of others we are living according to the empty and deceptive philosphy that is the basis for the traditions of men. As a man thinks in his heart, so is he (Prov 23:7). If we believe that we are who God says we are in Christ - forgiven, totally accepted, pleasing and complete in Him, we will live accordingly, with the objective of glorifiyng God in all things. How we dress will not be an issue. Although unique, IN Christ, we are all the same and each of us should be a reflection of God to the world. We honor Him when we honor how He made us. A woman can certainly reflect her femininity in slacks, and a man can reflect his masculinity in a kilt. I hope this helps you sort through the trap of legalism that is hinted at in your question.
