2 | Revelation 20 and 21 | Phil 4:3 | Makarios | 112186 | ||
Greetings Dab, You have received two great answers to this question already.. To look at this from a different angle, you could examine Matthew 13:36-43, or Isaiah 35:8; 52:1, Ezekiel 44:9, Joel 3:17, or even Zech. 14:21.. In all of these verses, as in Revelation 20:15 and 21:27, there is a clear distinction between those who are saved, and those who are lost. Those who are saved are those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life. And there was only one Lamb who took away the sins of the whole world (Hebrews 7:26-28; John 3:16; Acts 4:12). Therefore, we should not rejoice in any marvelous work that the Lord is able to accomplish through us, but we should rejoice in the fact that our names are written in heaven (Luke 10:20), in the Lamb's book of life because of our faith in Him. When one plays the violin and receives a standing ovation, it is the violinist who receives the glory, and not the instrument itself. In much the same way, God should get the glory when He uses us to win souls to Him. Blessings to you, Makarios |
