Bub, I don't know precisely what you are trying to teach on this forum, but it gives every appearance to my mind to be something other than orthodoxy. And I don't know what your definition of Christianty is, but mine is based on the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ and the inspired writers of the New Testament. And to say that the Christianity of the Bible contains paganism is pernicious heresy and blasphemy, regardless of who says it, whether you or an angel from heaven. --Hank

Dear Hank, In response to your comments: You said, “I don't know precisely what you are trying to teach on this forum.” Mt 5:19 Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and TEACHES others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and TEACHES these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. MT 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, [20] and TEACHING THEM TO OBEY EVERYTHING COMMANDED YOU. “ Since Y’shua was addressing Jewish guys……what was commanded of them was within the context of Judaism……that’s what they were to teach. Ever notice that when Christians quote the “great commission” they totally ignore v 20? Many don’t even know that it’s there. Re: “but it (what I am attempting to teach) gives every appearance to my mind to be something other than orthodoxy”. Define “orthodoxy”? Do you mean man made tradition? If so, you’d better believe I’m not trying to teach orthodoxy! As for: “And I don't know what your definition of Christianty (sic) is” Briefly put, it is the culmination of the attempt to remove all things Jewish from the belief system that characterized the first generation congregation. When things got hot for the Jews circa 66AD…….a certain faction of this heretofore strictly Jewish sect (see Acts 24:5; 24:14; 28:22) sought to remove all associations with anything that might have pegged them as “Jewish”, thereby saving their chicken necks……voila……christianity……”hey, we’re just a bunch of Greeks……look, even our lord is Greek, he’s “iesous”…….he used to be Jewish but he repented.” You continue: “mine (definition of Christianity) is based on the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ and the inspired writers of the New Testament”. Are you sure you don’t mean on the “selected” teachings…….or “inferred” teachings? And then, “And to say that the Christianity of the Bible contains paganism is pernicious heresy and blasphemy, regardless of who says it, whether you or an angel from heaven.” I don’t believe I said that the Bible promotes paganism; in fact it is vehemently opposed to any taint of paganism………Christianity, however, has no problem with it……what are the holiest days of the Christian calendar? From whence cometh they? Respectfully submitted……….Bub |

Thanks, Bub, for your response. Perhaps it's not an unfair question to ask of you: Since your views generally tend to be quite different from the forum consensus on a number of important issues, what motivates you to post on this forum? Are you possibly seeking approbration for your views, testing them, seeking converts to them, or merely passing time and amusing yourself with the debates that your posts have sparked? Whatever your reasons, you have selected an improprer web site for your indulgences. In case you have not informed yourself of the purpose and scope of this forum, please do so, or if you have, please refresh your memory by reading them once more. Please respect the Lockman Foundation enough to be guided by their standards of usage. And there is another concern that bothers me deeply. I've been a Christian for over half a century; I am grounded in the faith; and it doesn't matter to me personally what you post, because I don't give serious ear to false teaching anyway. But it does bother me that there are new Christians who read this forum, and honest seekers who do, and what you are providing by your lone-ranger brand of mixed-up theology is more than enough to confuse minds that are not firmly grounded in the faith. If you wish to believe as you do, do it, but don't smear your beliefs all over this BibleStudyForum in violation of the standards of content prescribed by the sponsor. If you persist you can, should, and likely will, lose your privilege to continue as an active user. I wish you well and pray that you will come to a saving knowledge of the truth in Christ Jesus. --Hank

Dear Gracechild [Toni]. It is with sincere thanks to you for coming forward to make your very first post to the forum, and I am indeed honored that it was in response to one of mine. It is unfortunate indeed that we must endure some very unbiblical and patently false doctrines that appear on this forum from time to time, but now that you have taken the plunge and have, by virtue of your first post, become an active member of the forum, you have every right to report abuse (use the blue "Abuse" button that appears to the right of the yellow ID# on the screen. By all means use it if you see posts that violate the standards of usage set down by our sponsors -- and this goes for EVERY responsible member of this forum...... Forum friends, we are not playing fair to other users, whether active or passive, especially to new Christians like Toni, when we neglect to report abuse when it is clear that abuse has occurred. ....... Toni, may God bless you in your new walk with the Lord, and feel free to ask questions, post notes, and be a part of this group. Welcome to it! --Hank
