Steve: The original post was not meant as an offense, and I am sorry you take it that way. I guess one is "only allowed" one view of Scripture here....my comment was against what I consider a false system of interpreting Scripture and I thought I had the right here to state that. It was not stated against a "person." Please do a historical study. I am happy that at least you are open to the truth and other persusions....Actually here is something on-line-- http://www.graceonlinelibrary.org/dispensationalism/ Unfortunately looks like SirPen no longer desires me to post or otherwise we could debate it (I have to prepare for teaching classes anyway)...of course history is history and that part would be futile to debate..it is what it is....but dispensationalism is not correct (MacArthur holds to a form of dispensationalism --which I disagree with...and I enjoy most of his stuff, i.e. the reference to unknown tongue (sing)...I added the original post for your understanding). Hopefully the link will assist you in your studies. I will agree that Mathison is not a complete as he could have been, but it is meant only as an introductory study. Correction ........................................................ JRdoc, It appears that you misunderstood a previous post of mine. I did not say that I wished you to stop posting on this forum in general. I hope that you continue to participate here, for I feel that you could learn much from many of my esteemed colleagues here. I also believe that you have ideas to offer that would be of benefit to myself and others here. My actual admonition was not to cease posting anywhere in the forum, but rather to cease posting on one particular subject, in one particular thread, which I am involved in. ........................................................ That thread is one with a very specific purpose, which must be maintained because it is very close to a very large sensitive topic that would quickly get out of control otherwise. That is why I made that statement to you and to my colleague Hank. You are welcome to post to any other thread on this forum to your heart’s delight, as far as I’m concerned. In fact, you may even post in that thread that I was talking about as long as you stay on the specific topic being addressed. ........................................................ I hope that I have now made myself clear. |
