1 | Scripturally, can women be pastors? | Gal 3:28 | Delta Echo Foxtrot | 144424
I need input on the validity of women as pastors. Many teach that it is not acceptable and quote the "let not a woman teach over a man" scripture. Still others say that the scripture which states that we are no longer "male nor female, Jew nor Gentile, etc. in God's eyes" means that men and women are or can be called to the pastoral ministry. I tend to think of that scripture, however, as relating to our spirits and not talking about vocations. There is a lot of literature on the "it's not allowed" side; however, can anyone give me reason, backed up by scripture, for the "it's okay to be a woman pastor" side of the issue?

... Gal 3:26-29, Eph 5:22-6:9 ... When you quoted "we longer 'male nor female, Jew nor Gentile, etc. in God's eyes'" ... it is based on Galatains 3:28. However, the basis of the context and Ephesians 5:22-6:9 says there are differences. While salvation is equal to all - there are lines, including slaves and free (masters). |
