1 | Male-female equality? | Gal 3:28 | RElderCascade | 91143 | ||
Did you read my post? Your tone makes me wonder if you really want to discuss it, or just throw a few blanket statements at me. Regarding your comment that the book belonged to the 1950's... you know if you fail to nail one specific point which proves it to be unbiblical, you have no right to conclude it belonged to any era -- unless you first PROVE that era to have been unbiblical! Do some work and write this time, otherwise you waste my time and risk wasting your own emotions in the process! |

Cascade: With no disrespect intended, I have made it a personal choice not to address anyone by a church title, Pastor, Rev, Elder, Deacon, or what ever the title trys to convey. In this Forum respect is EARNED by kindness, respect, and genuine reguard for each other. Your attitude is perplexing for me. No. I have no intention in handing you a wet blanket, just my opinion. How would one know that this book, is timeless and closed for my review? For me the only book that gets that kind of respect is Scripture alone. The fact that in the 1950's the family structure was much different than now, makes dealing with men and women of today different. If one has a marriage that is so structured as 50 some years ago, that in itself is a very rare occurance. I would suggest that there are better books for men and women to read, which would include equal submission and is more Biblical than a dictator ruling the home with a strong hand. As for wasting your time I sincerely regret the time I caused you to waste. I most assuredly hope my response is not too much of a waste of your valuable time or emotions. Perhaps when you have something kinder to say, with Christian respect, I would be open for further dialogue. Is this the way an Elder earns respect? Or is the title just a way of demanding respect? justme |

Cumbersome, but I'll try to define my terms. My use of "blanket statement" is not interchangeable language with, "wet blanket", as I meant to use the term. By, "blanket statement", I meant; broad, generalizations, lacking pinpointing to a discussable point. I understand a "wet blanket" to mean something different, is that true? Your opposition to my post (if you do oppose what I wrote) has yet to interact with any of my specific points! What did I write that you find unbiblical? Where is the issue with what I wrote? |
