OK, did you read the link that I posted earlier in my original question?? In this page is a very strong statement: Mat. 4:4… "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by EVERY WORD that proceeds out of the mouth of God." |

challen, Did you ever receive your answer? Everyone listed the perfect scriptures and understandings for you so I will not go into it any further. I promised I would address that article you mentioned so that is why I am writing. I was going to go over it piece by piece and list all scriptures going against what it says, but that would take forever and a day. If I did, I could wind up publishing this note as a novel! It is more fitting to answer it in a conversational bible study. However, I will give you one example that you can use to dismiss that whole article. That article goes on and on, listing scriptures and it was making me dizzy because it was using many out of the proper context. The main point of that article (from what I gather) is that we should still be following God's Law from the old testament. Here's my example that I will use to say that that is nonsense. Part of God's law was to sacrifice animals for various reasons, mostly for forgiveness of sins. That will no longer be an accepted form of repentance. It is only through Christ that we are forgiven of sins. So the law did change. There are many other examples, but I will just use that one to keep it simple. I have no idea how someone could say that we must still follow the old law. If that's the case, we all need to build altars in our backyard and conduct animal sacrifices or else God will not forgive us of our sins. Do you see my point? God bless, Sal |

Sal, Thanx for all of your help. Thanx to everyone else who offered guidance in this matter. Yes, I thought all along that when Christ died he fulfilled the law. There was that darned article I posted, and I also have a friend who is constantly telling me that modern Bible Scholars miss the point on God's word and misinterpret the Bible to fit today's world. The article fit the theme of my friend's belief. Thanx to all of you who replied, I have rejoined my personal path. Maybe not so much personal, but it relies on my personal relationship with God, thanking him for my redemption in Christ, who without we would all be hopelessly lost. Also, my personal relationship with God demands that I am grateful for all things that have come to me and all of those things that I have been fortunate to avoid. I do try to serve myGod in the best way I can, but alas, I am human, and therefore fall prey to foolishness at times. Let me say also that I am elated to have found this site. I travel because of my job and the hours are not regular, therefore making it hard to find the fellowship of other Christians at times. While this is all in print, the spirit is still received. Thanks to all. |

Good to hear your dedication and zeal is true. If you keep on this path, you will be fine. Remember to always use the Word for guidance. The Spirit God has given you, coupled with earnest humbleness, will lead you always! Man will let you down every time! We are all subject to foolishness and pride and sin and mistakes as long as we wear this flesh. Trust no one but God!! (Not even pretty articles written by "a great theologean") The Word of God is all that matters. God bless, Sal |
