1 | Man, woman take on sins of each other | 1 Cor 6:16 | Gretsch42 | 27347
I heard someone preach that when a man and a woman engage in intercourse and their union is santioned by God, their souls unite and they become one. If a man and a woman commit adultry or fornacation their souls still unite. But, because God turns His back on them as a result of their sin, they each take on all of the sins of each other. If that's the case, they sin because of fornication and adultry and they receieve all of the sins of each other.

Gretsch42, In 1Cor.6:16, where it says "he which is joined" is #2853, Kollao, from kolla, ("to glue") to stick, cleave, keep company. "to a harlot" #4204, porne, a strumpet, an idolater.Coming from #4205, pornos, to sell as akin as the base of #4097. to #4097,piprasko, a male prostitute ( as venal) a debauchee (libertine). "body" #4983, soma, the body as a sound whole, slave. "flesh" #4561, sarx, flesh, as stripped of skin, the meat of an animal (as food) body as opposed to soul and spirit. symbol of what is external, human nature with it's frailities (physically or morally) as passions, carnally minded, fleshly. There are other scriptures that are similar like Gen.2:24, Matt.19:5-6, Eph.5:31, Mark10:7-9. In Gen. 2:24, where it says "and shall cleave" it's #1692, dabaq, to impinge, cling, adhere, to catch by pursuit, follow close, overtake. "unto his wife" #802, ishshah, nashiym, a woman, adulteress, wife, woman. It comes from #582, enowsh, properly a mortal, differing from man. Bloodthirsty, chapman. "flesh" #1320 basar, flesh from it's freshness, body, person. In Mark19:5, "shall cleave" her is the same as 1Cor.6:16 #2853 where it says "which is joined". "wife" is #1135, gune, a woman, especially wife. "twain" #1417, duo, a primary numeral (two) both. "flesh" #4561, same as 1Cor.6:16. But in Mark19:6, where it says God it is #2316, theos, uncertain iffinity, a diety, the supreme diety, magistrate. "hath joined together" #4801, suzeugnumi, to yoke together, conjoin in marriage. "put asunder" #5563, chorizo, to place room between, to go away, depart, separate. From #5561, chora through the idea of empty expanse, a room, a space of territory. Eph.5:31, "shall be joined" #4347, proskallao, to glue to, to adhere, cleave. "wife" #1135 same as Matt.19:5, gune. "flesh" #4561, sarx, same as 1Cor.6:16, Matt.19:5. Mark10:7, "cleave" #4347, proskallao, same as Eph.5:31. "wife" #1135, gune, same as Eph.5:31,Matt.19:5. Mark10:9,"God" #2316, theos, same as Matt.19:6. So you see that there are similarities in these verses, but some slight differences like in 1Cor.6:16 it says which is joined, In Gen.2:24 it and shall cleave, Matt.19:5, says shall cleave, but the meanings are slightly different. Also in 1Cor.6:16 it says to a harlot, thus differing from Gen. and Matt. and Eph., and Mark. Harlot is #4205, pornos in the greek meaning to sell coming from #4097, a male prostitute, etc. and so on. As for the joining, and cleaving are slightly different in meaning. But most importantly in Gen.2:24, for flesh it says body as opposed from the soul and spirit. Symbol of what is external. It doesn't mean we are one as becoming one in soul and spirit. They remain separate and each one has his or her own sins, didn't God give us free will and that remains separate. We are to work out our own salvation, but when married it's a partnership. Gretsch42, The Holy Spirit showed me that I had not yet completed my answer. So here I am. Speaking of committing adultery. In Jer.3:8 "And I saw when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery. I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also". God divorces Israel, it says that he gave a bill of divorce. They were committing adultery with other lovers as it says in Jer.3:1 and in verse 1, God is saying "yet return unto Me, saith the Lord" But by what you said, God at this time would of had to take upon himself all the sins of Israel, and no where in the Bible does it convey this that sin has become a part of his nature. God would have to take on Israel's sin and it would become his sin now and Israel would take on sin of the Father and it would be their sin also. But,in the Father there is no sin. So your statement above "But because God turns his back on them as a result of their sin, they each take on all the sins of each other" To convey the confusion of your statement compared to the Epistle of Phillipians 2:1-18, The whole chapter conveys the idea about standing alone, but the verse that conveys best to me is verse 11,"Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling". It also causes confusion to Rev.20:1-15,The whole chapter conveys standing alone. The verse that conveys best to me, where we should stand alone is Rev.20:11, "And I saw a great white throne, and Him that sat on it, from Whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them". Jesus many, many years later took upon all the sins of the world when on the cross. But Jesus did not take on sin nature of each individual. John3:16, For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth on him will not perish, but have everlasting life. Without spot or blemish. But in Hosea 14:whole chapter, God takes Israel back and in his mercy and love for his "wife" he forgives and speaks lovingly toward her in tenderness. Just as a married couple, if one commits adultery with another, can the one spouse forgive in love and mercy and they be joined together again. Just like if we sin, we feel distant from the Father. But in asking for forgiveness, he lovingly forgives in his tender mercy and Love for us his children. And God remembers the sin no more. The sin no longer exists. No sin is greater than the other. Sin is Sin. This is how we know that it is not a mortal sin to divorce and remarry again. The Father himself divorced and was he himself reunited with Israel. I hope this has helped you.
