1 | Will we know each other in Heaven? | 1 Cor 15:52 | BMyers | 201707 | ||
Hi Doc, I'm trying to grasp your post, if I'm reading it correctly, you are saying we will not get new bodies? My limited understanding was that we would be raised (rapture) in our old (current) body and when the rapture occurs we would be trading off our old bodies (the perishable) for new bodies (imperishable). I don't know if that means I will get a whole new body or if God will just change this one I have. I know your current time is short so you may not have time to reply in depth that this topic could involve and if so that is find, I understand having your time taken by other responsibilities. Thanks Brad |

Dear Brad, The final blessing in the order of salvation (ordo salutis) is the redemption of the body. This will mark the conclusion of the interim state, the time between death and resurrection. The spirit is rejoined with the body. The nature of that body is a matter of speculation. Certainly we know it will be like the resurrected body of Christ, who is the first fruits of many brethren. Certainly it will be, as you've pointed out, "incorruptible." The lost are raised from the dead as well. Their resurrected bodies will be able to survive the eternity that they face as well. Read carefully the LBCF statement I quoted in the post that prompted your question. You'll see that the old divines also provided Scripture reference. In Him, Doc |
