1 | Will we know each other in Heaven? | 1 Cor 15:52 | bible believer | 201690
hi doc: while not "new" (different) bodies they are not the "same" (functioning)bodies- i agree with you that they are our old bodies resurrected but, as i said, they are definitely "glorified" bodies- free of all the earthly limitations (disease, physical corruption etc.)---functioning on a VERY different level! i think basically you and i agree on what God's word has to say to us in this matter although perhaps we express it a little differently, limited by our method of communication (typing vs. face to face conversation!) i don't believe that further nitpicking would add value to this thread, so i close with thanks for your contribution. |

Whew... "nitpicking?" I want every jot and tittle of God's revealed truth! Every crumb that falls from His table is of incredible worth and relevance! But... wait, though... He has emphasized this particular truth in Old and New Testaments. He has expressed it in four distinct genres of Scripture. Since the days of its infancy, His church, by the Holy Spirit, has recognized this importance by repeated confession and creed. So... Rather than be satisfied with our rough approximations, shrugging off our inaccuracies, and excusing our error as unimportant minutia... let us love the Word of God, through which the Holy Spirit works to set us free. Let us demonstrate that we are Bible believers indeed! |

hi doc: i'm not going to take the bait you've tossed but assuming that you've got something additional you wish to say, perhaps this is a communication which would be better continued "off line"? if not, once again, i don't believe the back and forths (yes, even yours!)have added value to this thread. i'd be happy to discuss the Bible and theology with you but i think you left that realm behind a couple of "notes" ago. should you wish to revisit it, just let me know. |

Son, its a public forum. Our every idle word will be judged. Why wouldn't we assume that that is not every bit as true of our typed words? Hidden agendas don't serve anyone's purpose, nor do they reflect the righteous character of our Lord. False doctrine must be corrected whenever and wherever possible, since a small amount of leaven leavens the whole loaf. I've tried to write as plainly, clearly, and concisely as I am able. (Perhaps with too much haste, since my time is currently so reduced.) My email address is in my profile for anyone interested in a private exchange.
