CDBJ Actually it has been mathed out. Taking a very conservative number for the number of children in each family and a rather old age of marriage the numbers come out round 500 thousand people that could have been living when Cain took a wife. Taking a more realistic approach the numbers come out to be around 1.5 million or 750 thousand women from which Cain could choose a wife. Taking a liberal approach the numbers could be as high a couple of million living by the time Cain took a wife. I looked for my original material and I can’t lay hold of it but I copied this from Answers To Tough Questions Genesis 5:4 tells us that Adam had sons and daughters. At first, sons and daughters of Adam and Eve had to marry each other to populate the earth. Cain probably married a sister or niece or grand niece. Assuming the accuracy of the Genesis account, and considering the length of lives recorded (around 900 years, on the average), a very sizeable population could have developed very rapidly. Using conservative guesses as to the size of families and average age, there easily could have been several million people living at the time of the death of Cain. Moreover, the Scriptures nowhere indicate at what points in the life of Cain he murdered his brother, married his wife, or built his city. Even a few hundred years might have passed before all of the events took place, allowing for a sizable population with which to build a city. McDowell, J. (1993). Answers to tough questions. EdB- Actually, Cain married the 418th of Adam and Eve's children (Gen 4:1 plus verse 17 equals 418) and the number for children therefore is 13 (4 plus 1 plus 8)! Which tells us that if you have 247 children (666 - 418 equals 248) that child will be the antichrist! Let's do the numerology thing again along with Cain's wife! Blessings my friend- Debbie |

Debbie I sit here frozen in fear I never realized how close I was to having an antichrist. I'm sure glad my wife and I stopped having children when we did, only 245 to go and then trouble. Okay Cain's wife it is real easy. As I told you scientist have discovered her name it was Elisabeth (z's weren't invented yet) and if you add the letters in her name you come out with 76. 7 stand for perfection or God and 6 as everyone knows is man so you have Man against God meaning she was was against God. Now I know there are some that will refuse to beleive her name was Elisabeth so using the Cain's Wife we find the numbers come out 57 then since this is Genesis 4:17 we add 4 and 17 and get 78 and since Adam and Eve had 2 children we have to subtract them so minus 2 so we get 76 which again is Man against God. there it is proven!
