Is speaking in tongues for private use at home? I have a book that says, that it's not really for private use and that seems strange to me. I'm reading up on it now but what some help. Thanks |

Hi 8788, Acts Chapter two shows the evangelistic gift of tongues (called by Paul the tongues of men) which is to speak in a language unknown to yourself yet known to the hearer for the purpose of sharing the gospel. 1 Cor 14 teaches about the prayer gift of tongues (called by Paul the tongues of angels) which is to speak in a language unknown to all for the purposes of prayer and praise to God. I would suggest a study specifically in 1 Cor 14 to answer your question. Love in Christ, Mark |
