1 | Is the Work of Christ Sufficient? | Rom 6:23 | New Creature | 68311 | ||
Robert; Just a couple of comments. Take them for what they are worth. Good works can never earn salvation, but they must accompany it Charles Spurgeon has said "Although we are sure that men are not saved for the sake of their works, yet we are equally sure that no man will be saved without them." “This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works.” Titus 3:8 Also Jesus Himself said; “My brothers and my sisters are those that HEAR God’s word and PUT IT INTO PRACTICE.” Luke 8:21 NIV faith, if hath not works, is dead, being alone. (James 2:17, 20) And I think we both agree that we don't work to become saved, but rather we work, because we have been saved. True saving faith, will always show forth works as evidence of salvation. Blessings New Creature |

New Creature: Amen! I agree that good works is evidence that we are saved. If we do not show any fruit in our christian life, then one would question if we are alive in Christ at all. I do appreciate your note. We both rest in the same Savior and one day we share in his presence. May God bless you. Robert |
