Hello cthetruelight Three separate Gods is tritheism. No question. "The Trinity doctrine did not emerge until fourth century. Neither Jesus nor the apostles ever taught it." The Trinity doctrine was not put down on paper as a systematized doctrine until the 4th century. It can be found in the Old Testament. "If the Father and Son are coequal Persons, why did Jesus have this attitude in Phil 2:6-11?" Because He desired to do the Father's will. See especially John's gospel. "Are there three Spirits in a Christian heart? Father, Jesus, and the Spirit all dwell within a Christian (Jn. 14:17; 23; Rom. 8:9; Eph. 3:14-17). Yet there is one Spirit (1 Cor. 12:13; Eph. 4:4)." You just gave a nice proof of the Trinity--three, yet one. "You made it clear that Jehovah Witness were in error because a few men in Watchtower came up with their theology..." No, others have. But I agree with them. "...and it is correct beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Catholic Church came up with the theolgy of Trinitarianism (a few good bishops, men if you will)." Excuse me, but you said the Roman Catholic Church which wasn't yet in existence as a separate entity. Steve |

It's amazing to me how folk believe what they want to believe instead of choosing to believe that the Holy Spirit will lead us into all real truth. Most hurting people do not major in the formalities christians make of the trinity. It's like anything else you either believe in what Jesus did and who he is or not. Jesus never forced a doctrine or made an argument with folk concerning God's Word. Just note that I too believe totally in the trinity, although technically you may not see it in the bible, neither do you see the marriage vows in the bible but people recite them before God to unite couples in Holy Matrimony. No matter what the Jehovah Witnesses believe, everyone will know that Jesus is the way, truth, and life as knees are bowed before Him at the great White Throne. It's just like people still get healed today, but Jehovah's Witness will dispute that, Christians had experiences and lifestyles that only God through Jesus(God in the flesh) could have possibly gotten them through but Witnesses and other cults will dispute YOUR experiences. Bottom line: Jehovah's Witnesses fail to believe the one thing that is acceptable to the Father which is the sacrifice of the blood of the ONLY begotten Son of the Living God (JESUS CHRIST) and what He has done to redeem us from the curse of the law given in the old testament. Anyone, including the Witnesses who do not believe that will not see past those pearly gates.

loyla: It's amazing to me also that so many people are led astray, not only by Jehovah's (False) Witnesses, but by a staggering number of other outlandish cults, by a broad spectrum of false teachers. Amazed I am but surprised I am not. There is an impressive amount of warning in Scripture that what we see happening before our eyes would indeed happen. But we are not left without defense. Christians are told to put on the whole armor of God so that they may be able to withstand Satan's bag of tricks, i.e., the wiles of the devil. --Hank

Exactly Hank, I believe that if people really want to KNOW THE TRUTH, God will indeed show it to them. A lot of times with folk like Jehovah's Witnesses, we want to use a lot of theology and logic to win them instead of being led of the Holy Spirit of what we should say to them. We have to remember that they are taught that Christians will react a certain way and whatever they are challenged with they will go to a more knowledgable Elder in their own organization to seek the answer they may not have for you at that time. If we yield ourselves and follow God's way of ministering to Witnesses and cults like them, we can win them. We cannot win these folk with head knowledge alone, although you need to have knowledge of the Word of God for God's Word saids that people parish for lack of knowledge and we need to study to show ourselves approved unto God (and remember it's God we are showing ourselves approved unto not man) being a workman that needeth not be ashamed RIGHTLY dividing the Word of truth, so this is essential. But having head knowledge to debate an issue with people under cults is a waste of your breath if you are not led by the Holy Spirit in ministering that knowledge. We must approach people God's way and with His heart and words in which we've studied through His Word and stop just trying to prove we are right and let our words as well as are lifestyles (actions and behavior) before God and man show them the REAL TRUTH.

Hi, Loyla You can only present the TRUTH to others. Just like a horse, you can lead him to water but you can not make him drink. Just as it is with God, who is the revealer of all truth to those that seek Him. Seeking to know the truth should be every child of God's quest. Where the Spirit of the Lord is their will always be freedom. God will always bring freedom to those that seek Him. I know that you may not understand and I might add neither did the people of Jesus day. Everyone wanted to conform to one way of thinking but Jesus always gave answers that confounded them. So you see Jesus came to tear down those strongholds that people formed in there minds. However, I also understand the labels that was given Jesus by the people of His day and so it is today. If you do not go with the status quo you are labeled as a cult. Just to give you something to think about. God Bless |

Cthetruelight: Yes, I agree. All we can do is to present the message of the Gospel of Christ, both to those who have been deceived by cults and to those who profess no faith. We sow the seed but God gives the increase. But there is a limit on how much sowing should be done on a single plot of soil! If the soil is not receptive, no amount of seeds will germinate in it, so we should shake the dust off our feet and proceed to new ground that may be more fertile..... I've been on this forum since shortly after it began in the spring of last year. And I have seen many unbelievers as well as many disciples of various cults and pagan religions come and go on this forum. Of course, in each of these cases, there has been debate, often bitter and drawn-out debate, and I must confess that I've seen little indication that good fruit ever came forth as a result. In the wake of these goings on, I can only conclude that a medium such as this is not really as effective as one might wish in leading the errant to the truth of God's word. Perhaps there are others who hold different views on this and they are, of course, welcome to show me wherein I err. --Hank
