1 | Who will be saved? Few, Many or All? | Rom 3:23 | Not yet | 152326 | ||
Accepting Him is the beginning. One will not accept Him unless it is His will for that one to do so. The sinful nature cannot know Him, thus, the renewing of the mind. ...be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind... Romans 12:12 The sinful nature CANNOT understand that which is of the Spirit. "The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him." John 14:17 , NIV And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him;" Joh 14:16-17, KJV For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:Eph 2:8 Do you have that faith? Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: Mat 7:7 There are many discussions concerning just who the elect are. The only thing agreed on, is that the elect are those who will ultimately make it to Glory. The best, and most scriptural discussion I have ever heard concerning who the elect are, is as follows. He is an omnipotent and all knowing God. Just as He knew before He laid the foundation of the earth, that you would be reading these very words at this very minute, He also knew whether or not you would accept His son as your savior. Thus, those whom He foreknew He chose. Elect; per Mr Webster. 1 : carefully selected : CHOSEN 2 : chosen for salvation through divine mercy 3 : chosen for office or position but not yet installed. I can hardly to fill that office. Figuratively, I believe that based on scripture, what we do here on earth, will determine the decor in that office. Life is only a dress rehearsal for what is to come. It is only a drop, in the ocean of Eternity. In His Name |

Precisely... But I can't see how Ro 12:12 can be associated with it. I think you mean Ro 12:2. I love that passage. There is so much meaning to those few words. Imagine one who has lived a life of theft and deceit. No doubt, that individual has felt justified in such a lifestyle. "Take from the rich and give to the poor." The poor usually being "me." Now imagine God bestowing His grace on that individual. All of a sudden that person starts feeling a little remorse here and there. God has replaced his/her stony heart with one of flesh. Finally, imagine that person, through the grace of God and the faith that God bestowed on him/her, accepting Jesus Christ as his/her savior. Now, can you imagine that person continuing to justify his/her previous lifestyle? No, that person is undergoing a renewing of the mind, becoming a new person. Old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2Co 5:17. “He/She has been born again.” I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth. Luk 15:10 NYP |
