1 | Paid ministry | Rom 10:9 | BradK | 155545 | ||
Obi, Unless you substantiate your remarks with scripture, all you're doing is speculating! What do you say of 1 Tim. 5:17-18?: "The elders who rule well are to be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who work hard at preaching and teaching. For the Scripture says, "YOU SHALL NOT MUZZLE THE OX WHILE HE IS THRESHING," and "The laborer is worthy of his wages." In the OT, giving to the priests and the care of the tabernacle and temple was done by tithing. (Num. 18:7, Neh. 10:38-39) In the NT, does not Paul detail the principles of giving in 2 Cor. 8:1 - 9:15? Particularly note 9:6-14 as to full time laborers in ministry. Hello Bradk, Your eyes and heart seem to be fixed on "Filthy Lucre". You twist the Scriptures like ALL the others to justify everything ! Does "DOUBLE HONOR" really mean earthly rewards ? Tithing was and still is a test of oneĀ“s FAITH in building up the KINGDOM of GOD here on earth, but DEFINATELY NOT aimed at paying for a priest ! Paul talks about "GIVING" but again not specificly money. LOVE thy neighbor, give to those in need, but DEFINATELY NOT payed ministry ! Speaking the TRUTH, Obi1kanobi. |

Greetings Obi 1! Again, you need to read the verses that people respond with to you. Brad wrote: "What do you say of 1 Tim. 5:17-18?: "The elders who rule well are to be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who work hard at preaching and teaching. What exactly are wages? ;-) Are they not payment for services rendered? The wages could be money, they could be food, they could be board, but they are still wages (payment).
