1 | Ten Commandments obsolete? | Rom 10:4 | CoolRob | 13028 | ||
I have a question. When Jesus said we are to keep His commandments, was he referring to the 10 commandments, the 613 commandments, or the commandments that He gave in the gospels ? ** I ask this question because the commandments that Jesus gave in the gospels encompass the 10 commandments. |

I John 3:23 says "This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us." John 15:12: This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you." See Romans 13:9-10. (love is the fullfillment of the law). The ten commandments, and all the law, is useful for instruction. (2Tim 3:16). It is our tutor to Christ (Gal 3:24). Colleen PS Galatians 5:3 says that if we receive circumcision (depend on part of the law for righteousness) we are under obligation to keep the _whole_ Law. That would include sacrifices. But we know that Christ is the final sacrifice (Hebrews 10:14). |
