Bible Question: Is Paul saying that the Ten Commandments are obsolete? |
Bible Answer: No Paul is saying that Jews pursued a righteousness based upon keeping the Ten Commandments. Because no sinful human being can keep the commandments their faith was null and void. However, to achieve righteousness it must be done through faith in Christ. This doesn't make the law obsolete rather it puts the law in its proper place showing us the Character of God, and giving the believer as a rule of life, informing them of the will of God and their duty. |
