1 | Acts9:1- Paul said Who are You Lord | Acts 9:5 | Joseph-Clyde | 155299 | ||
Thank you for your concise answer. My theory is that he did know by word of Jesus and when he witnessed Stephen's speach and death in acts7:57-59. Just theory say's the at on the the day described in Act's9:1 is the reason he Saul recognized who he was talking to and his question Who are you Lord was merely for conformation. What do you think? |

Greetings Joseph-Clyde, It is very possible that Saul heard the entire story from Stephen, as a matter of fact, since he was present at Stephen's stoning (Acts 7:58), and agreeing heartily to put Stephen to death (Acts 8:1). From that point on, Saul became a chief persecutor of the church until Jesus appeared to him in Acts 9. And its very possible that Saul recognized something in Acts 9 that he had heard previously in Stephen's speech. But the Bible does not give us the specifics or go into such detail about those kinds of things. All we know is that Saul the persecutor became Paul the preacher, and then to change the face of the entire world, driven by his love of his Savior, whom he once persecuted. Blessings to you, Makarios |
