Scripture ... Acts 9:3-8, 22:6-10, 26:12-18 ... jcsav, In post 142896, you said, "Jesus didn't give Paul all he need when he was speaking to him from Heaven. Did he? Did he come down from Heaven and Baptize Paul. No. And that is a part of Salvation." Please explain how Jesus didn't give Paul all he need. Also has Jesus ever come down to baptize anyone? Searcher |

Excuse me for interrupting, but baptism is not a prerequisite of salvation. You do not have to be baptized in order to be saved. You must only believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. The thief on the cross was not baptized, yet Jesus said to him, "Today shalt thou be with me in paradise." Janae. |

Dear sister, Remember that this occured before Pentecost, remember that in Mtt 28:18 Jesus stated that all authority had been given to him,so he could do what he did here. But notice in the next verse he tells them to baptize. Now read Acts 2, we cant take baptizm out of the equation. In Christ, lionheart |

Acts 2 is talking about baptism in the Holy Spirit as evidenced by speaking in other tongues--the beginning of the Church. This is not baptism in water. Neither baptism is required for salvation. When you are saved, the Holy Spirit comes to reside within you, but this is not the baptism they are speaking of in Acts 2. Janae. |

Goodmorning sister, The greek word for baptize is the word baptizo-to baptize, wash. There are other variations of the same Greek word (3).The Holy Spirit is what you get as a result of your salvation.Look at verse 38 of Acts 2 The greek word baptizo refers to water. The Indwelling of Holy Spirit is the result of there repentance and confession (Ro 10:9)of Jesus Christ as Lord. Why would Jesus in Matt 28 tell the 12 to baptize in the name of the Father, the Son,and the Holy Spirit. Why would Jesus Comand them to do something that wasnt important? The word baptizo in Acts 2:38 is not the baptizm in the Holy Spirit.I dont think we have a problem here we just gotta let Gods Word speak for itself. Your brother in Christ, lionheart |
