1 | Why the Holy Spirit came after baptism? | Acts 8:15 | mohandass | 144994
Hi,Nice to see your discussion. I just want to explain the life of Christianity. When ever you are hearing gospel and started responding for gospel and belive Jesus. That is salvation.Rom:10:17 and Rom:10-Baptism is nothing but Commiting ourself to Jesus. -I Pet:3:21,22-baptism -not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,- through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, angels and authorities and powers having been made subject to Him. -. Anointing by Holy Spirit is the separate incident. For that we can see many example in Bible. Acts 2nd chapter and 19th and Acts 10:47-48-Then Peter answered, "Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?" And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then they asked him to stay a few days. So we need to wait in prayer to receive the HolySpirit anointing. |

Hi Mohandass, Now I am bit confused/muddled with different terms. I have been believed that at the moment of salvation, the Holy Spirit comes into me and dwells in me. Having said that I have no problem understanding the terms like "quenching the Spirit, grieving the Spirit, to be filled with the Spirit, and the fruits of the Spirit." You said "annointing by the Spirit is a separate incident." Can you explain how "annointing by the Spirit" with respect to terms above?
