1 | Decisional regeneration? | Acts 2:38 | Morant61 | 169730
Greetings CDBJ! Here are some similar Scriptures to what the pastor was saying. 1) Rom. 10:9-10, "That if you confess with your mouth, ‘‘Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." 2) Acts 16:30 - "He then brought them out and asked, ‘‘Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” 31 They replied, ‘‘Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.” " The wording is a little different, but it is clear that someone who repents, believes, accepts, ect... is saved. So, overall, I would have no problem with his statement. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |

2 | Decisional regeneration? | Acts 2:38 | CDBJ | 169769
Hi Tim, I’ve talked to people who said they were saved because they went forward in a Billy Graham crusade. Some assume they are saved just because they’ve jump through someone’s psychological hoop; walking an aisle raising a hand etc. I like the eunuch’s answer to Philip. Acts 8:37 (B) And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Peter had the right answer as well. Matthew 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. John 20: 31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. The key to eternal life, is believing in the Jesus the Son of God, just as the Bible says but the problem, as I see it, is in the word believe. People don’t fully understand what it means to believe in Jesus Christ because the word believe, in the English, doesn’t convey what the word in the Koine Greek meant, as you well know. CDBJ |

3 | Decisional regeneration? | Acts 2:38 | Morant61 | 169783
Greetings CDBJ! I see what you are saying my friend! At the same time though, some people set the bar too high on the other extreme and make it seem like one must have a Doctor of Theology Degree in order to accept Christ. :) I saw this actually happen once with one of my nephews. He wanted to be born again, but his family would not pray with him because they felt like he was too young. So, he came to me and I prayed with him. I have known of many parents who waited too long because they thought their children were too young to come to Christ. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
