Where is it written that one's citizenship is determined solely by one's place of birth? For example, if a husband and wife who are American citizens and are living in a foreign country have a child born to them in that country, is not the child an American citizen? Or if a French diplomat and his wife have a child born to them in England, is not the child a citizen of France? Moreover, Paul himself said: "But I was actually born a citizen." Or "I was born [Roman]!" |
