1 | Who does the Father draw to Christ? | John 6:44 | Hank | 76046
God must draw people because all are alienated from Him by sin, but only those who repent and believe the Gospel will be saved. The Bible says that the Lord "is not willing than any should perish, but that all should come to repentence. [2 Peter 3:9] Christ died for the sins of the world, not just the sins of the few, but again only those who repent and believe the Gospel will be saved, thus becoming the elect of God. 2 | Who does the Father draw to Christ? | John 6:44 | slide_m46 | 76136
Thanks for your response Hank. Again it leav es me puzzled as to how Christ's sacrifice could be anything other than perfect, that is, it did exactly what the Father intended it to do. Further, if the Father is not willing that ANY should perish, why do so many do so? I always remember that this does not effect my salvation in Christ Jesus. It does still puzszle me however that I see so many not moved by the Holy Spirit, and hence not coming to Christ. I bare in mind that NOONE can come to the Father except through His son and NOONE can come to Jesus unless the Father draws one to Him. It seems paradoxical to me and I am still struggling with this. I will continue to pray and read God's word, and allow the Holy spirit to reveal God to me. God bless you.
