1 | Why was the samarian woman right? | John 4:16 | casiv | 20078
Sorry, that is NOT the right answer. Please try again. You will find the answer in a verse but you must understand spiritually. Thanks, Casiv
2 | Why was the samarian woman right? | John 4:16 | Morant61 | 20087
Scripture................................... Greetings Casiv! There are two points that must be made about your question. 1) First of all, the Greek text says 'well' not 'right' (Check Strongs # 2573). 2) Secondly, 'well' is an adverb. Thus, it describes a verb. The verb is 'you said' in verse 17. Thus, Jesus was saying that the woman correctly said that she had no husband. You will find the answer my friend, but you must understand grammatically! :-) In Christ, Tim Moran |

3 | Why was the samarian woman right? | John 4:16 | casiv | 20093
Hello Tim, Thanks for the correction and for Greek #2573. Yes, details are very important , even grammar. I should have asked why Jesus said the woman answered well. You didn't answer the question though, or do you agree with retxar? Also what does Galatians 6:8 mean to you? Gal 6:8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption: but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. |

4 | Why was the samarian woman right? | John 4:16 | Morant61 | 20095
Response............................... Greetings Casiv! Yes, I agree with Rextar. Her answer was correct, because she had been married five times, and the man she was currently living with was not her husband. Gal. 6:8: Gal. 6:9 tells us what Paul means by sowing and reaping. Verse 9 says that if we do not become weary in doing good, we will reap a harvest. Therefore, verse 8 is refering to things done for self as opposed to things done for spiritual good. 5 | Why was the samarian woman right? | John 4:16 | casiv | 20112
Tim, Thanks for answering, but that is not correct either. Gal 6:8 tells us through Paul, that the Holy Spirit says we are to plant a seed of spiritual understanding, which is uncorruptible, not a seed of fleshy understanding. The flesh is weak, and corruptible, it dies and will go back to the ground it came from, but the spirit has eternal life and will go back to the Father who gave it. The right answer to the question is: 2 Cor 11:2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. This does not mean a physical virgin, but a spiritual virgin as we see the next verse confirms. 2 Cor 11:3 but I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled(wholly seduced) Eve through his subtility, so your minds should be corrupted(to spoil with fleshy understanding) from the simplicity that is in Christ. Isa 42:7 To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house. The Father will send His Servant to release people from a spiritual prison not a physical prison, and we know who holds people prisoner by the next verse. Isa 14:17 That made the world as a wildernes, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners. Jesus says: Matt 6:31 Therefore take no thought, saying, "What shall we eat?" or, "What shall we drink?" or, "Wherewithal shall we be clothed?" Matt 6:32 (For all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all those things. Matt 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. We are to read and understand spiritually. |

6 | Allegorical interpretation | John 4:16 | srbaegon | 20115
Question.................. So, are you saying that all of Scripture must be read as a spiritual allegory or parable? Is it that we must always go beyond the text for a deeper spiritual understanding? Steve |

7 | Allegorical interpretation | John 4:16 | casiv | 20120
Hi Steve, I would prefer to say get into the Word in depth instead of "go beyond". All will be revealed in its appointed time and this is our promise from the Father. Yes, read the scripture, all of it, for spiritual understanding as spiritual allegory or parable. But, again you really must understand the parable of the sower and the wheat and the tares, it is the good seed and the bad seed, this is the beginning to understanding scripture. Hope this helps! Peace, Casiv |

Casiv ... no, No, NO ... You should not take ALL of Scripture as a spiritual allegory or parable to understand it. There are geneologies, laws, history, prophecy ... that I'd not take that way. Why do you? Searcher |
