Water Baptism is a contributor to our salvation. It is depend upon the situation, for example the one in the cross that has faith in Christ. Christ grant him salvation in faith alone, because in that situation there are no time to perform baptism they are not in the right time to do it. The mere fact that Christ commanded it it is very important. In our case we have a lot of time to perform and observe the commandments of Christ, i.e John 3:5 that we have to born in Water and Spirit. I do believed that baptism is important, but baptism will not save you but your faith. But I dont believed that a person reject batism is save. Christ done it Himself as an example: Mt 3:13 ¶ Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. I dont Christ will do that if baptism is nonesense. God bless, |

3 | Must we be Baptized to enter Heaven | John 4:14 | Ray | 102955
Hi jlpangilinan, I would like to talk to you about some spiritual things and things about the Spirit. You might guess that I will be talking about capitalization and how it influences interpretations. Please understand that I know that people capitalize words sometimes to stress them, to draw attention to them, to set them apart. But I believe for the Scriptures themselves, we have to be aware that capitalization is important for recognizing pronouns of Deity. The words "water" and "baptism" are not capitalized in the Scriptures because they are spiritual things. They are not speaking of the Spirit Himself. So Baptism does not save you; for baptism is a spiritual thing. We do not have to have "the Baptism" and speak in tongues in order to be saved. Speaking in tongues and the baptism are spiritual things and not the Spirit Himself. And realize that I am speaking in generalities and speaking to other people besides you, jlpangilinan. But I wanted to talk to you about John 3:5 because you wrote about being "born in Water and Spirit". You probably capitalized water because you wanted to stress the word; for you know that Water does not save you. But for me personally, I think that the word Spirit in John 3:5 should be considered also. Right now in my personal copy of the Scriptures, I have "spirit" penciled in. This is how I interpret John 3:5,6 and would appreciate some response about it. "Jesus answered, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the spirit is spirit." What would be your response? From the heart, Ray |

4 | Must we be Baptized to enter Heaven | John 4:14 | jlpangilinan | 103001
Ray, I dont say that water will save me but my faith in Christ. No water really will save you maybe water will kill you but Christ the one who saves. Baptism really not saves but Christ. But if I am totally rejecting the baptism which included in the commanments of Christ I dont believed that person is save. Quote "We do not have to have "the Baptism" and speak in tongues in order to be saved. Speaking in tongues and the baptism are spiritual things and not the Spirit Himself." end of quote. Are done with water baptism or you totally rejected it and rely on faith alone doctrine? If I will say that I have faith, then reject baptism the logic will not follow. The reason why desciples and apostle baptize because they believed that Baptism is not a nonsense things. God bless, |

Misunderstanding?? I do not believe that anyone here has stated that we reject baptism, obviously most if not all of us have been baptized in material water. The point we are responding to is Stevens "ORIGINAL" question in this thread which was, "Must we be baptized (in material water)to enter into Heaven.?" We were responding as to why it was not necessary to ensure one's salvation or enter into the Kingdom of God. We also listed the instances when it is impossible to be baptized (and still there is no danger of salvation lost or Heaven's doors being shut in your face). All these being true if you have received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. God's Peace be upon us! -khuck |
