1 | Is not Love The Greatest Commandment? | John 3:16 | kalos | 31604
LampLight: Welcome to the Forum. Please know that you are loved and accepted here. I, for one, would not wish to see you become discouraged and drop out of forum participation. It is true that "God is love" and if I "have not love, I am nothing." Love is of great importance. And the Name of the Lord is of great importance. Can you imagine anything in the universe that is above the Name of the Lord? Hard to imagine. Yet Psalm 138:2 (Amplified) says, "for You have exalted above all else Your name and Your word and You have magnified Your word above all Your name!" As important as love is, there is something so important that it is even magnified above the Name of the Lord. It is His Word. "Love" without Biblical truth avails us nothing. As a participant in the forum, one of the primary things I strive to do is to point out inaccuracy wherever it occurs, whether of Scripture quotations or other matters involving factual information. It is my hope that my attention to factual detail will not be misunderstood as personal criticism. Would not loving people include taking care to see that they are not misled or deceived through a misstatement of truth, whether intentional or not? In short, here on the forum, if people want credit for being factual, then they need to check their facts before posting. Failure to do so reflects a light and careless attitude toward the Word of God. Love and truth are not mutually exclusive. Grace to you, John |

Thank you John as well. It was not my intent to post non-facts, I referenced by mistake (as I am human) no key in my back..Little Humor. Anyhow, I said Descend into heaven of Christ instead of Ascend into heaven. I did not mean that and I did know what I meant to say. I had my 2 year old grandson, who lives here with me screaming in the background while I was trying to post. I also said the bible is not always literal. When Hank jumed on me abouth that, I wrote back what about the parables? They were beautiful expressions of Christs words to touch the heart and stir the mind. Yes his parables meant something, they were just not plainly spoken in the literal sense, but a comparative sense. I am not the most knowledgeable of the Bible, however I am not unfamiliar with the Bible either. Maybe my better approch would be if I see something that I would like to respond to, to print it. Then stop and take the time to ponder it, research it, then post my answer instead of trying to post in then and there. Like I said I am new to this. I do have a lot of love and insight to share. I write Christian poems that I have shared with various people that have touched them to want to know more. I feel that this is the gift that God has given me, the gift of Mercy and expression. Thank you for helping me to bandage this little wound of mine. It was only a nick anyhow and I will continue to post. I want to learn more as well as help in any way that I can...focusing on being more accurate.
