1 | Is not Love The Greatest Commandment? | John 3:16 | LampLight | 31510
Dear Robert: Thank you for your response. I agree with all that you said. Love is the greatest commandment and I also know that Christ Loves us Unconditionally and that I too am saved by his grace and not by works. The reason that I posted this question was that my spirital gift is the gift of mercy, and I am new to this forum. I responded to a couple of questions, with encouragement and love, I got 2 responses back that did nothing but criticize me (Hank)and at that moment for the 1st time in my life, sadly to say, I understood how a lot of non-believers feel when they say the things that they do about Christians. Too many times I hear the word thrown around, "So' Called Christains, many times by other Christains...these words are powerful and wound as a sharp piercing sword. Being a Christain and knowing how to forgive, I brought my wounds to the Father and I am ok today, however what about the non-belivers who can't forgive so easily, who don't go to the Father as we do? It is my stong belief that Love is first and foremost of importance, if it were not for Love then our hearts would not be capable of being opened up to the Father to start our wonderful journey with him, a close realtionship with him. He works on us from the inside out. 1st Love, then learning, then descipline and obiedence. Because it is He who 1st loved us, our love in turn for him makes us want to know more about him, to follow his will, to be obiedent to him...all this out of love. I suppose I was shocked and dis-heartened by last nights events here on the forum, as I did not expect such boasting and criticism from here. Now I know why I am basically a loner, I associate with my Church, but not too many on a large scale, and at work, mostly I spend time alone with the Fahter for he will never leave me nor forsake me. Thanks for your ear, just wanted to explain why the question. |

2 | Is not Love The Greatest Commandment? | John 3:16 | Robert Nicholson | 31544
Dear Lamplight: It is wonderful to leave ourselves in our Father's care since we have confidence that he loves us. The Lord Jesus reminded us that his eye is on even the sparrow, how much more on those whom he has redeemed by his precious blood. How true are your words, that after he saves us, he works on us from the inside out. I read a book by Max Lucado "Just Like Jesus". A quote from the book inspired me "God loves you just the way you are, but he refuses to leave you there". In our Christian live we are encouraged "to grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ". When we were born again we are placed into the family of God by adoption forever. However, like in many large families at times siblings can be insensitive to one another. In spite of this we should have an inner love for those who belong to Christ. Blessings to you in his precious name. Robert |

Dear Robert: I greet you from the opposite of the Globe here in Sunny Florida. I too am so thankful that God refuses to leave us the way we are, that he ever so gently, yet sometimes abruptly moves us more and more towards understanding him and Loving him deeper. I wish that I had started off on this forum better than I did, but, that was yesterday and today is today. I watch Charles Stanley (In Touch Ministires) and have also read a few of his books. Are you familiar with him? He teaches with Love, yet his own experiences, as well as very sound Biblical doctrine. The 1 hour that I watch him on Sunday seems to be so filled with so much good information as well as deep encouragement. He does have a website also. Anyhow, wanted to share that with you. I am now reading his book entitled "How to Listen to God". It is an excellent book. I would highly recommend it. Thank yor for your support and understanding. I look forward to hearing more about your faith as well.
