If you will read the references you will see they are telling you exactly what I am. Your Luke passage is not a description of death or of resurrection but rather proof positive that David was not writing about himself but rather Jesus who would sit at God's right hand. Secondly David's spirit at this time had not gone to heaven it was still captive in Abraham's bosom awaiting the promised Messiah to lead it home. The 1 Peter is simply saying both heaven and earth will be renewed. The Thessalonian passage once again is talking of death of the body not "soul sleep". Our Spirits are eternal however our bodies are not. In the Old Testament when a person died they went to Hades (holding place for the dead) one side was a hot dry place the other Abraham's bosom. We see a picture of this in Luke 16:19-31 you can't refute that. Upon Jesus' death He went to Hades (Abraham's bosom) and preached the Good News. If everyone was sleeping then who did he preach too? 1 Peter 3:18-19 (NKJV) 18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit, 19 by whom also He went and preached to the spirits in prison, Then Jesus lead all those in Abraham's bosom home to heaven with Him. Ephesians 4:8 (NKJV) 8 Therefore He says: "When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, And gave gifts to men." Now when someone dies and trust in Jesus for their salvation they go directly to heaven as Paul told us. 2 Corinthians 5:8 (NKJV) 8 We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. Now let me ask a question. You first asked a question where is my uncle in the grave or in hell? I answered your question but you rebut me with Jehovah witness propaganda. My question to you is did you ask an honest question or are you seeking a platform to spread Jehovah Witness false teachings? EdB |

I speak as the Holy Spirit moves me and not as propaganda but quoting what the bible says, not someone's ideas. If you are you not able to defend your obvious mis-conceptions I am remorseful for you. Sorry but your interpetation of 1st Peter 3:18-19 is not a person but is translated as: 4151; non-carnal, i.e. (humanly) ethereal (as opposed to gross), or (demoniacally) a spirit (concr.), or (divinely) supernatural, regenerate, religious:— spiritual. comp. 5591. Again, in 2 Cor the whole chapter tells of a future (to be present with the Lord) and not a current situation.2 Corinthians 5:6-10 6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: 7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) 8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. 9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. In Ephesions he says "till the future of the fullness of Christ" Please do not quote out of context but apply the whole thing. In Christ, He-man The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769. |

Hello He-man, I see you failed to answer EdB's question. This is typical of one who desires to spread dissension. Are you of that ilk? EdB's exegesis of 1 Pet 3:18-19 was correct. I recommend that you go back and rethink your position. Steve |

I don't know anyone called Steve. What is an ilk? I am not afillated with the Watchtower Society or any other such garbage (JW) or likewise. Luke 10:7 (for JW's) 7 And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house. Steve (ilk): All of the rest is for your edification; Romans 8:6-9 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. 2 Thessalonians 2:11,12 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 1 John 3:23 23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. Hebrews 2:14-17 14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; 15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. 16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. 17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769. |

No, what is the point of this? Are you here simply to persuade people to your point of view or for learning? Romans 15:4 4For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. Or perhaps you are beyond the learning stage and are not open-minded. I think this pretty well sums up your position: Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 2:5,6 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. 6For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding My position is expressed clearly in 2 Cor 10:8 For though I should boast somewhat more of our authority, which the Lord hath given us for edification, and not for your destruction, I should not be ashamed: The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769. He-man - Perhaps I overlooked it, but I really don't recall seeing a post in which srbaegon (Steve) asked you for your opinion of him or his motives for being on the forum. A word to the wise: Steve was here long before you arrived and may be here long after you are gone. --Hank | ||||||
