1 | What is God's will for you? | John 1:1 | Timothy Paul | 53458
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" The Bible says that nothing escapes the eyes of God the Father: Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father's will. But the very hairs on your head is numbered, Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows (Matthew 10:29-31). God achieves His purpose in our lives in a variety of ways. Since nothing escapes His notice He uses all sorts of circumstances to get His will done in our lives. This includes unbelievers. And the Lord had given the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they granted them what they requested. Thus they plundered the Egyptians (Exodus 12:36). Tim,Thank you for your note. God's will is so important in all our lives. We must respond not only to God's word but we must take the time to hear his voice. My sheep know my voice. What is your view in being Baptised in the Holy Spirit? Thanks BB
3 | What is God's will for you? | John 1:1 | Timothy Paul | 53645
BB,Thanks for your comment, as well as your question, giving me a chance to search the scriptures, which is often the reason I log on. Your question about baptism seems "loaded" to me, only because of so many debates I have witnessed in the past in my short life as a "born again." However I will do my best, and offer the answer that I feel fits the will of God. The view I've adopted is that no, baptism is not necessary for salvation, but it is required for obedience. "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." (In context, Act 2:37-38) Now the word spoken through Peter does not tell us repent OR be baptized and he does not tell us repent and MAYBE get baptized. Also, an important verse is Luke 3:16, " John answered, saying unto all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire " So, in conclusion, I must say that only Jesus can baptize us with the Holy Spirit. For Jesus Christ said the final word concerning the salvation of mankind when He hung dying on the cross, and said,"It is finished." Then the curtain of the temple was rent, and the Holy Spirit was released, never to be held in a man-made structure again. He Now Dwells In Us! "Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body." (1Cor 6:19,20) The baptism of the Holy Spirit is foretold in Eze. 36:25-27; " Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do [them]. Baptism of the Holy Spirit is through Christ, Titus 3:4-7, "But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which He shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by His grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. Hoping to continue, I must cut this short. I hope this answers your question, Any more? Tim |

Tim, Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. In Acts 2 look at verse 39 also.Don't forget Rom 8:9-But you are not in the flesh but in the spirit, if indeed the spirit of God dwells in you.Now if anyone does not have the spirit of Christ, he is not his.The Bible says we must ask for the Holy Spirit. We must surrender, then be willing to obey(Acts 5:32)Then we need to believe Gal3:2. All of my trans comes from the Spirit Filled Bible. BB
5 | What is God's will for you? | John 1:1 | Timothy Paul | 53986
Dear BB, Thank you for the enlightening passages, there is much there to learn. to pay back in kind, I will suggest you look at this... Romans 6:3 Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? Following this, please let me add, 6:16 Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness? (NASB) Peace and blessings, Tim |

6 | What is God's will for you? | John 1:1 | Burning Bush | 54269
Brother Tim, Thank you for the Roman passages.Rom 12:2 The best way to know God's will is to be familiar with God's word. We both know without God's word we would be as the world is. Ps.119:6,7,105. Another way to know God's will is through prayer.Col.3:15 Please don't forget that God shows us through godly counselors Pro. 19:20, 20:18,24:6. The key is to be sure that we are subitted to Him and are willing to do whatever He shows us. Finally, for people who seemingly are unable to discern God's positive directions, I recommend "negitive" guidance. Say,"Father,I want Your will above all else. Please do not let me miss your plan and purpose for my life." Such surrender has the guarantee of His guidance. Pro. 3:5,6

BB, your suggestions are well appreciated and taken to heart. There is so much there to study I will devote my freetime for days. Rom 12:2 says that God's will is good and acceptable but it does not define, only describe what His will for us is. Further searching led me to Micah 6:8, "He hath shewed thee, O man, what [is] good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?" So, that is His requirement, but I believe that we have a purpose in life as well. Our purpose here on earth as I understand it, is to exalt the name of Jesus Christ so that through Him our Father God may be glorified. If we are successful in doing this, then we may be granted the privelege of knowing and understanding His will and given the gift of discernment. Or would this be salvation through works? (Eph 2:8,9) Which also brings me to Jer 9:22,23 Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise [man] glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty [man] glory in his might, let not the rich [man] glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I [am] the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these [things] I delight, saith the LORD. Peace and Blessings, Tim |

Tim, Thanks again my brother. I will be going to be with friends at their church to worship with. We met the pastors( the people we are going to see ) at church camp. Pray for me because God has given me a word for this new church. This is a exciting time in the life of this new ministry. I believe God is going to blow the roof off this new church in the next year. Have you ever looked into the Four Square church? Go to http://www.Foursquare.net or org This has been the best in preaching God's word God's way. May God bless you and protect you from harm. BB
