Subject: What is God's will for you? |
Bible Note: BB, your suggestions are well appreciated and taken to heart. There is so much there to study I will devote my freetime for days. Rom 12:2 says that God's will is good and acceptable but it does not define, only describe what His will for us is. Further searching led me to Micah 6:8, "He hath shewed thee, O man, what [is] good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?" So, that is His requirement, but I believe that we have a purpose in life as well. Our purpose here on earth as I understand it, is to exalt the name of Jesus Christ so that through Him our Father God may be glorified. If we are successful in doing this, then we may be granted the privelege of knowing and understanding His will and given the gift of discernment. Or would this be salvation through works? (Eph 2:8,9) Which also brings me to Jer 9:22,23 Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise [man] glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty [man] glory in his might, let not the rich [man] glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I [am] the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these [things] I delight, saith the LORD.
