1 | Could you nail Him to the cross? | John 19:23 | Searcher56 | 10091
EdB, Yes, we all are responsible for His death, and as you pointed out, we are saved by His death. Next question. If you were the one, and you were a follower of the Christ, and had to nail Him to the cross - would you, could you? You are not allowed to pass the hammer to another. So if you said no, what would become of your sins and mine? I am thinking deeply of the Roman soldier(s) who nailed Him to the cross ... and the centurion. I hope I get more response, even to my story about Julius. I do have one more question - I'll ask later. Steve |

2 | Could you nail Him to the cross? | John 19:23 | kalos | 10104
I can't help but wonder why it would have been necessary for a believer to nail Christ to the cross. Throughout the history of the world rarely has there been a time when there was a shortage of unbelievers. What I mean is surely the Atonement was never dependent upon a believer taking an active part in the execution of Christ. There is certainly no evidence of it in the Bible. I know this is a hypothetical question. But, as hypothetical questions go, this one is really weird. |
