Bible Question:
JVH0212, I'll use your post to ask my next question. I agree it is a "really wierd" question. I am wierd. The reason I asked is because when I heard about the bridge operator who killed his own son to save all the people on the train got me thinking. Could I kill the one who I loved the most? The reason for this question is along the same lines. Know that you and the world would be lost forever, would you of stopped His crucifixion? I believed He had to die on that day, so even delaying it would mean He missed one prophecy. We do need to think about our role in His death -that He had to die for us, at that time. All those people, while they had a choice, played their part. -we have a choice by adding our sins to Him, letting Him die for us (I know some people believe He died for all, not just those who believe - a minor point). Bible Answer: Steve you know the bridge operator story is a made up story. Secondly it is a lousy example of what happened at the cross! Jesus allowed himself to crucified out of obedience to the Father. Jesus being God understood perfectly what had to be done to pay the price for sin and he willingly paid it. No one took His live! Jesus knowing no man would be capable of making the decision you pose would never allow that situation to develop. Ed |
