1 | Could you nail Him to the cross? | John 19:23 | Searcher56 | 10091
EdB, Yes, we all are responsible for His death, and as you pointed out, we are saved by His death. Next question. If you were the one, and you were a follower of the Christ, and had to nail Him to the cross - would you, could you? You are not allowed to pass the hammer to another. So if you said no, what would become of your sins and mine? I am thinking deeply of the Roman soldier(s) who nailed Him to the cross ... and the centurion. I hope I get more response, even to my story about Julius. I do have one more question - I'll ask later. Steve |

2 | Could you nail Him to the cross? | John 19:23 | EdB | 10101
Steve I do not believe God would have put someone into the position of your fictitious Roman Julius. Even Judas did not understand what he was doing until after the fact, and the reality of it drove him to commit suicide. There is no way I could humanly handle the tension between nailing Jesus to the cross or not allowing Him to render sin defeated. It would overcome any lesser human than Jesus himself. Even then Jesus sweat blood as he agonized His decision of that event. |
