1 | wish you were hot or cold | John 15:5 | Ken hepting | 90747
why do we make God' word so complicated? Because we attempt to justify and own way of living while calling ourselves “Christian”. We claim Christianity yet are so blatantly ignorant of the reason for Jesus Christ aside from redemption….which is something we had nothing to with except need it. Prov. 13; 15 tells us that the way of a transgressor is hard. God' word is true and the truth shall make you free. One thing we must realize is this; we must be sincere in what we do for Christ and remember only what we do for Christ will last. And when we read Gods word we won’t understand everything now as we read, but one day we'll understand it better by and by................ Yes but the transgressor mentioned hear applies to the one has entered into something and then violated it. In the Christian’s case it has to do with not entering the kingdom of God as He desires -See Jn 3.3,5- while attempting to have the benefits of His kingdom. Won’t work! He,the Christian, violates the word of God. Jesus says “Come unto me”; and then, "Take My yoke upon you”. We go to Him for salvation and then no further. We don’t take His Yoke because we really don’t desire His “Government” -Yoke- to be something in/on our lives. Consequently we live a contradiction when we say we are Christian that brings confusion and difficulty when trying to understand His word and be blessed by it. God’s word is indeed truth and we can be ‘sincerely wrong’ about that truth if we don’t appropriate His provision for finding it. Since it can only be found by the Faith OF Jesus Christ and that Faith to be found in His Kingdom, where we ought to find ourselves if we are “rightly” sincere? It is the Mind of God that is found IN the Faith of Jesus Christ. Paul said “Let this Mind be in you……” Jesus said: “Be perfect as your Father in Heaven”. When His Faith is in you will begin to see that it is the ONLY Faith that is pleasing to God AFTER you become a Christian. -Heb 11.6- And without faith -*that Faith- it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him…..with Himself! Then “works should follow based on the Mind of God; the Faith of the Lord Jesus. What did Jesus say but “I only do what I see my Father do…” So we can readily see that without His Faith it is impossible to please Father since it is with His Mind that we do so. -Jn 17.11- “…that they may be one, as we are”.- The responsibility lay with us to continually be found pleasing to Father in the way of perseverance in overcoming in this life. And how do we overcome but by the Blood of the Lamb! It’s a Love affair initiated by Him. A man’s works will reveal what faith motivates him. -James 2.20- -*that Faith-emphasis mine- It is NOT so much what we do for Christ that will last since we can be functioning from “self-motivation”. We must be as Jesus, the man, and then the doing will be a giving of ourselves as Father moves, by His Holy Spirit, upon our hearts. One can’t ‘do’ without, ‘being’. |

2 | No wedding garment | John 15:5 | Ken hepting | 91812
Ever wonder much about the marriage supper and guy who gets kicked because he's not wearing the proper wedding garment?

We must do it His way. | ||||||
4 | No wedding garment | John 15:5 | Ken hepting | 91837
Yes! But care to elaborate just a little more as to what we must do, His way? Maybe make the comparison between your faith and His faith; your garment you demand to wear and His garment that must be worn. Since the whole "scene" is His, in your estimation, which one will more carry more weight with the Bridegroom when He sees you sitting at His Table?
5 | No wedding garment | John 15:5 | Searcher56 | 91860
Scripture ... Matthew 22:11-12 (vv 1-14) ... Ken ... The man was invited from the stree (vv 9-10), so he, and the others, probably weren't wearing wedding clothes before they arrived. Therefore, they were provided. If so, the man chose not to wear what he was supposed to. This insulted the host. Galatains 3:27 comes to mind, but I am not sure it is a direct fit. Searcher |

6 | No wedding garment | John 15:5 | Ken hepting | 91864
Sortta makes me think of what I witness on any given Sunday morning service. Coffee in the sanctuary, people dressed like their going to the beach, no reverence for where they are. Even the 'wordship teams' dressed like hoodlums. No, I don't believe we can do our own thing and say we honor God at the same time. There should be exortation from the pulpit to be your best for Christ and never believe you going to win people over by making yourself look like the world in your mannerisms and dress code. It's true that Christ saves you like like are but He doesn't want to leave you that way. I believe that and if you profess and confess Him, people should be able to make distinctions easily. We should put into practice and display, our wedding garment at all times. |
