1 | One religion as good as another? | John 14:6 | Reformer Joe | 29791 | ||
Well, you really just repeated what you said before. The civil implications of the Sinaitic covenant was for the pre-Christian tribes of Israel. There was no promise to the Gentiles made in that covenant, other than for those who were proselytes to the religion and effectively joined the nation of Israel. The promise that God made concerning Abraham's seed was fulfilled not in Israel, but in a man: Christ Jesus: 'Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He does not say, "And to seeds," as referring to many, but rather to one, "And to your seed," that is, Christ. What I am saying is this: the Law, which came four hundred and thirty years later, does not invalidate a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to nullify the promise. For if the inheritance is based on law, it is no longer based on a promise; but God has granted it to Abraham by means of a promise.' --Galatians 3:16-18 |

Hi Reformer Joe, Your reference to Galatians 3 and the seed, the man,[Man] Jesus Christ speaks to my interest in this thread. My interest is for people to incorporate the Deity of Christ in this claim of His being the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Much in the same way that the NKJ version does in Galatians 3:16, "Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, "And to seeds," as of many, but as of one, "And to your Seed," who is Christ." How important is this capitalization to your mind? From the heart, Ray |
